We produce rubber sheets from natural and synthetic rubbers with smooth or textured surfaces. Natural rubber is extracted from special plants in the tropics, whereas synthetic rubber is synthesized from petroleum by-products. When heated with sulfur along with accelerators, plasticizers, and processing chemicals, most rubbers become hard and more elastic and resilient. This process is called curing or vulcanization. It improves hardness, tensile strength, tear strength, elasticity, compressibility, and abrasion resistance.
